| | David Lingfors and Samantha Saeger are the 2017 TdL Champions! | Dateline: February 11, Uppsala. On a cold crisp morning, club members met at the start of Janne's Backbana to face off on the final stage of this year's Tour de Linné.
The women were running one lap of the famous hill course this year and the men ran two laps. The start order was determined by a scoring list from earlier stages in the Tour, and David Lingfors set out with a 44 second lead over the chasing Love Sintring, and 27 second further behind came Olle Eriksson. The women chose to dispense with the scoring list entirely and settled on a mass start instead.
David's time of 53.28 for two laps was an excellent performance considering the icy conditions, though not close to his personal best for the course. Samantha Saeger was also very satisfied with her winning time of 32.10, finishing just ahead of Moa Enmark and Hilda Forsgren.
Participants in this year's tour had cold nights with bright nearly full moon for each evening. The complete Tour in 2017 featured some classic elements and some new events. Monday Rockgympa was well attended despite not contributing points to the scoring lists. Continuing the tradition of The Flying Kilometer this year, none could match the speed of Rassmus Andersson on Tisdagsbana β and Onsdagsnatt had a lot of gaffling and plenty of chances to lose time for those who lost their concentration running through the marshes of Nåsten. For the newest stage of this year's tour, Viktor Janrik set a fantastic sprint orienteering course at Tunåsen. The venue lent itself to several grueling climbs to the top of the hill.
The training group thanks everyone for coming to the TdL trainings this week, and to all those that helped set trainings and organize this week. In no particular order, Lisa Carlsson, Samantha Saeger, Rassmus Andersson, Viktor Janrik, Ross Smith and Johan Hamelius.
